Autumn
safety
With
autumn just around the corner, many of us are left wondering
where the summer went. As the temperature drops and the leaves
change colour, we are reminded that with a new season comes
new safety issues that must be addressed, both at home and in
the workplace. More
September is Arthritis
Month
Often associated
with the elderly, arthritis does not discriminate. It can
affect people of any age, resulting in painful symptoms,
including pain, swelling, fatigue and restriction of
movement.
September is Arthritis Month in
Canada, an opportunity for people living with the disease to
bring attention to the cause. More
Ask
Us
Q: If
I am involved in a car accident while doing work for my
employer, am I required to report it to WorkSafeNB?
John Black* Moncton, NB
*Name has been changed for
privacy purposes A: The simple answer
to this question is that you are under no legal obligation to
report any accident, including a car accident, to your
employer, but failing to report an accident can have a serious
impact on any ability to later make a claim for benefits under
the Workers’ Compensation Act. More

DID YOU KNOW
?
In
New Brunswick, you are allowed to use studded tires
between October 15 and May 1. Don’t depend on all season
tires to keep you safe! Snow tires help you maintain
control and stability of your vehicle in slippery
conditions. Make sure they are properly inflated, as
tire pressure decreases when the temperature drops.
Under inflation reduces
traction.
